We took a stand and stepped out for gender equality on Women’s Day

Women and girls around the world still face major barriers in realizing their rights, in areas as diverse and far reaching as political participation, education, health, and economic prosperity. We still have miles to go.

Fast forward to one hundred and two years since the International Women’s Day was first celebrated – gender equality still remains unrealized. The gender gap won’t close if we don’t engage all actors.

This year’s women’s day, let us involve men and boys in promoting gender equality

Tuesday, March 8 marks International Women's Day, a celebration of women worldwide that dates back to 1977 when the UN General Assembly challenged its members to declare a day for women's rights and world peace. The 2016 global theme is: “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step for gender equality”. Picture it!

Global goal no. 5 talks about gender equality. Accelerating this by 2030 needs having a holistic understanding of everyone’s roles in ensuring that we live in a society that accommodates all sexes equally without strings attached.

Love Mu Kibanda, we took the Valentine’s Day love to Bwaise

Valentine’s Day is an extraordinary moment for recalling the lasting power of a true love. The true love beyond red roses and gifts but also the obligation to tell your partner to always make informed life choices.

Therefore, this year’s Valentine’s Day, the people of Jambula Zone II in Bwaise were the beneficiaries of our true love campaign ‘Love Mu Kibanda’ aimed at promoting positive health choices among residents in slums.
