To demystify the negative stereotypes associated with menstruation, Reach A Hand Uganda, NBS TV and AFRIpads are running yet an educational engagement activities in the lead up to Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) 2019. MH Day around the world is aimed at breaking the silence on menstruation, raises awareness and changes negative social norms around menstruation. These activities will include avenues to engage the Online community, school communities and On ground communities.
We have come up with the #AuntFloExperience that has been categorized into three contests i.e. School Essay contest (open to only young people in schools), Online Blog contest (open to all) and the Social Media video clip (open to all) contest.
One has to be in High school i.e. S.1 to S6 and Essays have to be original and breach of that will lead to automatic disqualification
Essays are sent as a school and not as an individual. Therefore, prizes won are won for the school and not for the individual writer. They should be in clear and legible handwriting.
The winner of this essay competition will win 2,000,000UgX for their school, AFRIPads hampers that they will donate to a community in need and also be invited to participate and attend RAHU Signature events
This is open to every individual on social media, no age limits and both male and female can take part
Videos uploaded should bear the hashtag #MyAuntFloExperience or else we won’t be able to track them
The most Outstanding videos, with the most engagement will win 500,000shs
