The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)’s Live Your Dream Campaign is meant to inspire action towards a better life for young people and women and promote the well-being of the entire family. Under the With You(th) pillar of the campaign, UNFPA in partnership with Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU) established a high quality and powerful conversation platform titled, “Live Your Dream Moment.” This is a two-hour conversational platform that aims at inspiring and informing young people through engaging non-traditional actors and icons to share their personal experiences on different social issues that affect young people in Uganda.
At the “Live Your Dream Moment”, you will listen to your favourite icons share their powerful and inspirational stories on how they have, as young people, succeeded in overcoming everyday challenges – to live their dream.
Join us this Friday at the UNFPA offices for the fourth edition of the “Live Your Dream Moment” on Friday April 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM – 4:00PM featuring RnB sensation Geosteady alongside the award-winning innovator Zilla Mary Arach hosted by NTV Television Anchor Malaa Kivila Odera.
Meet the Icons; Zilla Mary Arach
Zilla Mary Arach is a young and prominent technology entrepreneur. At 26 years of age, she has already been recognized, both locally and internationally, as an outstanding innovator. Zilla was the overall winner of the 2017 Young Achievers Award for her contribution to the Farming and agro-processing as well as ICT innovations category. She is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Akorion Technologies Limited and the Co-Founder of IFEM Uganda a not-for-profit organization aimed at skilling and empowering young girls with technology skills.
Zilla is also recognized as the Next Einstein Forum Science Awardee, an Alumni of Germany based Westerwelle Foundation, an Alumni of US Mission IVLP(International Visitors Leadership Program), an alumni of Google Launchpad Program and the first Female Guild President of Busitema University. Zilla is also a member of the prestigious AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science).
Geosteady
Geosteady is a musician with one of the fastest growing careers countrywide. He is also a Brand Ambassador of Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU) that does empowerment of young people in Uganda.
Geosteady has also recently opened up a children support charity foundation, St. George Foundation Uganda (SGFU) which focuses on improving children’s access to education in rural areas. He is also one of the six artists who composed the song Baleke, the Live Your Dream campaign song.
The Host: Malaa Kivila Odera
Malaa Kivila Odera is currently the Founder and CEO of Sylmax Consult; a training and consultancy firm specializing in Client/ Customer Experience and Employee Engagement Excellence.
She is passionate about Corporate Governance and derives so much pleasure in helping businesses succeed. She is also a Television Anchor at NTV Uganda, and Moderates Corporate Panel Discussions for different industry players. Malaa is also a born-again Christian, a wife and a mother of two adorable children.
