Here is a brilliant poem about safe sex that made us fall in love with World Poetry Day

Across the world on every March 21, the world comes together to celebrate poetry in all its glory.

No set rules are laid down for how to mark it. Be it any topic, you can read some poetry. You can perform it. You can write a poem. You can pop along and listen to someone read theirs.

Because poetry is wonderful. It’s pure emotion and truth. And no matter who you are, there’s a poem out there that will touch you the same way we would love this to appeal to you

To inspire you to fall back in love with poetry, our peer educator Shawn Davis Kawalya has rounded up a poem about safe sex which you should be interested in reading. Check it out;

NO SAFE SEX, NO SEX

I ask you to use it

And you reply “No”

I tell you that we won’t have sex

And you reply “So”

Is that how you feel?

You don’t want to because of that?

I thought you loved me

But I guess you were just talkin’ smack

I want to be safe

And you have a problem with it

You want to do it bare

But I don’t know who you’ve been with

We go back and forth

For a real long time

You are listening to your opinion

And I am listening to mine

You say live sex

I say safe sex

You keep saying live sex

And now there will be no sex

Five years later

You calling me from a clinic

Telling me everything

That you got from some belle

I cry for you inside

Because I feel bad for you

If you would’ve listened 2 me back then

You would not be where you are now, Boo
