African Youth and Adolescents Network

Strategic /

African Youth and Adolescent Network (AfriYAN), was birthed by The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and launched in 2005 to increase meaningful youth participation in Africa’s development (Lusaka, Zambia). The network has grown into a strong movement across the East, Central and Southern Africa. All African countries (East, Central and Southern Africa), have their own AfriYAN chapter. Since 2005, AfriYAN Uganda chapter has been operating as a loose network of youth led and youth serving organization not until December 2016 when it officially became a legal entity. AfriYAN Uganda is a functional network of youth led and youth serving organizations across the country that seek to address Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) related challenges among young people today to ensure that they live a quality life. Currently AfriYAN is made up of 21 member organizations with Reach A Hand, Uganda (RAHU) overseeing the running of AfriYAN Uganda Chapter and all activities as the Coordinating Entity
